John D. Biedel

John D. Biedel, 61, of Waterford, Ohio, died Friday, July 14, 2017 at his home. He was born on February 29, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio, son of Jack and Laura Mae Smith Biedel. He had been employed at Crescent Supply in Marietta for many years and most recently was employed at Lakeside Golf Course in Beverly. He graduated from Waterford High School in 1974 and had attended Rio Grande College. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 389 in Beverly. He had been a referee in the area for several years and had also run the time clock for Waterford High School for many years. He was very involved in the Waterford youth sports programs and had coached football, basketball  and baseball.

He is survived by his son, Jacob Biedel of Dublin, Ohio and his mother Jami Biedel of Waterford;  His mother, Laura Mae Biedel of Coal Run; two sisters, Julie Wagner and husband Steve of Coal Run and Gina Warner and husband Dale of Laurelville, Ohio; Father and mother in-law, Jim and Bambi Lockhart of Waterford; two sisters in-law, Charlise Burns and husband Bruce of Watertown and Layne Place and husband Rod of Beverly; and many other extended family members.; His faithful companion, Tiger.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother in-law, James Skinner and a niece, Tawni Morris.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 17, 2017 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly, with Evang. Zack Waite officiating. Burial will be in the Watertown Cemetery.
