Our History

McCurdy Funeral Home was established in 1944 by Harry McCurdy. He purchased the former Mindling Funeral Home after the death of Chester Mindling. Harry had been a funeral director at the Doudna McClure Funeral Home in Marietta for many years before moving to Beverly.

In 1948 Harry’s son, Charles McCurdy joined the business. Harry died in 1964 and Charles continued in the business until 1988 .Charles’s son Mike McCurdy joined the business in 1974 and became co-owner in the business with Charles in 1978 and became full owner in 1988.

Joe McCurdy, Mike’s brother, joined the business in 1981. Mike and Joe continue in the business today along with Mike's son Shaun McCurdy who became a Funeral Director and Embalmer in 2015.
