Ivan L. Tucker

Ivan L. Tucker, 99, of Beverly, Ohio died Friday, August 7, 2015 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 11, 1916 in Montgomery, WV, son of Ivan Chase Tucker and Mollie Foster Tucker. In his early years he had worked for the railroad and was a deep coal miner. He later retired from Central Ohio Coal Company as a foreman. He graduated from Montgomery High School and served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Marietta and the American Legion Post #389 in Beverly. He was married on April 25, 1937 to Virginia D. Lloyd Tucker who died on April 16, 1998. He later married Prudy “Cookie” Carr Tucker who died January 16, 2009. He is survived by two sons, Thomas Tucker and wife Calla of Raytown, Missouri and Jerry Tucker of Beverly; 9 grandchildren, Elaine Glazier, Troy Tucker, Thad Tucker, Travis Tucker, Austin Tucker, Jonathan Tucker, David Tucker, Joel Tucker and Melody Hatch; several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia; his second wife Prudy “Cookie”; his parents; an infant son, Dan Tucker and a daughter in-law, Lois Tucker. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly.  Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery with military services at the grave.
