Wava McNabb Obituary

     Wava G. McNabb, 89, formerly of Beverly, Ohio, passed on, Thursday, December 24, 2020, at 5:15am after a short battle with cancer,at Worthington Nursing Home.  She and her twin sister Wanda Gay were born on March 5, 1931, to Harold and Roxie Haines in Sharon Township.  Those proceeding her in death are her infant sister and brother, twin sister (who died at 7 months), and sister Vera (Robert) Long, Parents, husband (Richard McNabb 3/27/2011) and grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

     She attended Sharon Township schools and graduated from Forest Grove High School in 1948.  She attended Mountain State Business College, in Parkersburg, WV for one year.  She then came back to Caldwell, Ohio, and worked in an insurance agency for a few years.  She married the love of her life, Richard McNabb on October 21, 1950.  They were blessed with a daughter Wandalea in 1952. 

     In August 1957, they moved from Caldwell to the Beverly area.  Richard went to work for the Fort Frye School District and she went to work at Elston Lumber on June 30, 1960 and retired December 31, 1997, after thirty-seven years.

     Those left to miss her are her daughter, Wandalea and her brother Jay (Carol) Haines, of Coal Run, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

     She attended the 5th Street Church of Christ in Beverly.  She was also a member of the Beverly Lions Club, Beverly Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Fort Frye Band Boosters.

     Per her request there will be no viewing and a private immediate family graveside service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Beverly Cemetery with Evang. Rich Lemal officiating. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly is in charge of arrangements.
