Thomas Jeffrey Minton, 69, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 25, 1956 in Marietta, Ohio, son of Edward Vincent Minton and Dorothy May Jeffers Minton. Tom graduated from Morgan High School in 1975 and was self- employed in the heating and air conditioning business. He was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly, The Knights of Columbus where he was a 4thDegree Knight and had been a member of the Pioneer Motorcycle Club where he had been an announcer for many years. He loved to hunt, fish, go to flea markets and spend time with his family. On September 10, 1977 he was married to Deborah Pottmeyer Minton who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Thomas Edward Minton of Oregon, Ohio, Jeremiah Scott Minton (Angel) of Fountain Inn, South Carolina and Amanda Marie Waterman (Andy McKean) of Cutler, Ohio; five grandchildren, Zoey Minton, Josi Waterman, Sophia Waterman, Eoin Minton and Lincoln; a brother, Allen Minton (Winona) of Fostoria; three sisters, Phyllis Rice of Chesterfield, Virginia, Wanda Nelson of Hickory North Carolina and Sue Bishop (Doug Miller) of The Villages, Florida; and his mother in-law, Philomena Pottmeyer. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ward Minton; three sisters, Maxine Fulmer, Marilyn Treace and Joyce Slaughter and infant sister, Dorothy Carol Minton; grandchildren, Declyn and Scotland and his father in-law, Bernard Pottmeyer.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 24, 2026 at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father Tim Kozak officiating with burial in the St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly where a Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 pm. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
