Sara E. Prater

     Sara E. Prater, 93, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville, Ohio. She was born on July 20, 1928 in McArthur, Ohio, daughter of Archibald and Ida Rittenhouse Oiler. She graduated from McArthur High School and attended the Beverly United Methodist Church. She was married on September 29, 1946 to Joe E. Prater who died on March 12, 1998. She is survived by a son, Rick Prater and his wife Cleo of Beverly; a daughter in-law, Connie Prater of Greensboro, NC; seven grandchildren, Trevor Prater, Trent Prater, Morgan Christie, Lindsey Burt, Sara Jo Harbison, Heather Miller and Seth Prater; several great grandchildren; and a sister, Margie Harrington. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Rex Prater; a daughter, Linda Christie and her husband John and several brothers and sisters.

    Private family graveside services and burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday at the Beverly Cemetery with Pastor Jim Porter officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Beverly-Waterford Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 45, Beverly, Ohio 45715. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly is in charge of the arrangements.
