Samuel R. Rohrer Jr.

     Samuel R. Rohrer Jr., 85, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Monday, February 20, 2023 at his home. He was born on November 4, 1937 in Waterford, Ohio, son of Samuel Richard and Edith Leora Chipps Rohrer. Sam graduated from Waterford High School in 1956 and then served in the US Army. He later became a truck driver and did this for many years and his most recent employment was with MIE Trucking in Marietta. He was a member of the American Legion Post #389 in Beverly and was a former member of the Ullman Street Church of Christ. He was married on June 19, 1965 to Janet Sharon Nichols Rohrer who survives. Also surviving are four children, Sharon Buchanan (Greg) of Reedsville, Ellen Baker (Kevin Waugh) of Fraziers Bottom, WV, Sally Morse (Shane) of Waterford and John Rohrer of Marietta; eleven grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and one on the way; a brother, James Rohrer (Karen) of Waterford; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Mary Jane Eichmiller and her husband Ronald.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 24, 2023 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Evang. Zack Waite officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery with Military services at the grave. Friends may call 9-11 am on Friday at the funeral home.
