Roy W. Francis, 81, of Dexter City, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born November 25, 1937 in Marietta to George “Todd” and Frances Jones Francis. He was a meat cutter at Cloverdale and Sandy Creek Farms and was a member of the Dungannon United Methodist Church. On March 3, 1956 he married Jeanette Kelley who preceded him in death on September 23, 1985. To this union was born one son, Kenneth (April) Francis of North Carolina; four daughters, Sharon (Terry) Wade of Vincent, Becky (Harold) Tanner , Teresa (Jay) Foster and Betty Francis of Parkersburg; On October 18, 1991 he married Carolyn Allen who survives. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great –great-grandchildren; stepsons, Dennis (Kelly) Allen, David (Kimberly) Allen, Daren (Tricia) Allen and step daughter, Anita (Dan) Barnhart; ten step grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marjorie Johnson, Phyllis Gregory and Patsy McVey; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife; his parents; two grandchildren; two sisters and three step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor Lloyd Winans and Pastor Jim Porter officiating. Burial will be in the Williamson Cemetery. Friends may call 2-8 pm on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dungannon UMC.
