Roy M. Ellis, 85, of Alpharetta, Georgia, formerly of Waterford, died on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at his home. He was born on July 13, 1938 in Watertown, Ohio, son of Vannis and Sylvia Mae Morris Ellis. After graduating from Windsor High School he joined the US Air Force in 1956 and retired from the Air Force in 1980. After his career in the Air Force he was employed by Gulf Stream Aircraft in quality control and technical support. Roy enjoyed coin collecting, gardening and loved to putter around and fix anything that needed fixed. He was first married to Norma Insley who preceded him in death. He later was married on December 17, 2004 to Rosalie Young Dailey Ellis who died on July 30, 2015. He is survived by a son, David B. Ellis and his wife Pam of Alpharetta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Kaithlyn Ellis, Matthew Ellis, Catherine Ellis, Michael Ellis and Daniel Ellis; one great grandchild, Wyatt Ellis; a sister, Janet Donahue of Waterford; three step children, Bonnie Dailey (Jeff Eddy) of Reno, Robert Dailey (Marlene) of Waterford and Michael Dailey (Ashley) of Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his wives; parents; a brother, Ernest Ellis; two sisters, Marilyn Johnson and Nancy Chandler; and a step son, Randy Dailey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor Beverly Pottmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
