Rosemary R. Ellis

Rosemary R. Ellis, 90, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 21, 1933 in Churchtown, daughter of Albert John Rauch and Helen Anna Holden Rauch. Rosemary attended Watertown Elementary School and graduated from Waterford High School in 1951. She had worked at Ohio Power Company, been a telephone operator in Beverly and had worked for the Citizens Bank Company in Beverly at a variety of positions. She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly and was active in the Catholic Women’s Club, the Parish Council and the St.Vincent DePAUL charity. Rosemary loved reading, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and many friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and going on guided tours with her friends. On June 19, 1954 she was married to Dean E. Ellis who died on July 4, 1981. She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Branch and husband Dave of Zanesville, Ohio and a son, Jim Ellis and wife Monica of Chardon, Ohio; six grandchildren, Josh and Julie Branch, Andrew and Jackie Branch, Matt and Jessica Branch, Ashley Gorden (Heath), Marisa Ellis and Chloe Advent (Mike); seven great grandchildren, a brother, Regis Rauch and wife Susan of Sylvania, Ohio; a sister, Kathryn Gessel of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother Harold Rauch.

     Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, August 21, 2023 at St Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly with Father Tim Kozak officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm on Sunday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly where a Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 pm. Online condolences may be made by visitng www.mccurdyfh.com.
