Robert (Bob) Allen Leeper, 88, of Beverly, Ohio, passed peacefully on June 12, 2024, at Harmar Place, fulfilling his wish to go to his Heavenly home to be with his wife, Carol, passed loved ones and friends, and his Lord.
Bob was born on June 6, 1936, in Cambridge, Ohio, to Frank and Velma Leeper. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1954, and Case Institute of Technology in 1958 with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Upon graduation, he worked at Vanadium Corporation in Cambridge, Ohio in Research & Development, Interlake Steel (now Globe Metallurgical) as Plant Metallurgist in Beverly, Ohio, then for 30 years with Martin Marietta Corporation in a number of positions in Sales, Executive Management, and as a Technical Expert until his retirement in 1997. Bob was a well-known and respected expert in the Alloy and Steel Industries. He received numerous honors from his company and the various professional societies he was a member of and served in over the years. Those who knew and worked with him knew he valued hard work and integrity above all traits, and he led by example. Bob also served in and was Honorably Discharged from the US Navy Reserve in 1968. In addition, he was a lifelong member of the NRA, Guernsey Lodge #66 Free & Accepted Masons of Cambridge, Ohio and an avid supporter of his beloved Fort Frye Cadets where he and Carol attended and contributed to numerous teams and events for over 50 years.
Bob met and married his wife Carol, who passed away in April of 2023, early in his career at Vanadium Corporation, and they spent their lives together raising their children, Julee (Kevin) Lewis of Newton Falls, Ohio, Ann (Dwain) Knight of St. Clairsville, Ohio and Frank (Stacy) Leeper of Hebron, Ohio. In addition, Bob is survived by his grandchildren, Christopher (Annie) Drake of Bethesda, Ohio, Bobby (Ashleigh) Leeper of Kettering, Ohio, Alexandria Leeper of Nashville, Tennessee, and a sister, Louise Williams of Cambridge, Ohio.
In addition to his beloved wife, Carol, Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister Shirley Ann Biegler.
Bob will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was an example to us all when it came to providing for one’s family, honesty, integrity, and giving to others in time of need. He donated quietly to numerous people and causes over the years and taught his children and grandchildren how to be good stewards of the gifts God gives them, and how to gather up the trash on BOTH sides of the road!
The family would like to thank Appletree Assisted Living in Beverly for the loving care they provided him over the past few months.
