Robert Ribble Obituary

     Robert F. “Bob” Ribble, 94, of Hackney, Ohio died on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on September 10, 1927 in Zanesville, Ohio, son of Frank and Mary S. Cunningham Ribble. Bob grew up in Deavertown, Ohio and graduated from Deavertown High School in 1944. Bob’s dad died when he was 13 and he provided for his mom until her death. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran serving in WWII and worked on B-29 Bombers. He was fortunate to participate in the “Honor Flight” program which took him to Washington DC to be an Honoree. He was retired from AEP Muskingum River Plant after many years of service. He was a passionate gardener and wood worker and master of both. He was a member of the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #389 and a life member of the Masonic Lodge. On May 7, 1949 he was married to Charlotte Rose Thomas Ribble who preceded him in death on September 15, 2006. He is survived by four children, Eric Ribble (Joyce) of Baltimore, Ohio, Brenda Evans (Pat) of Fleming, Ohio, Rodney Ribble( Sophie) of Coshocton, Ohio and Lisa Stolar (John) of Morgantown, WV; Fourteen grandchildren, Misty Flowers, Jason Ribble, Lori Locke, Jared Evans (Angie), Carrie Smith (Brent), Nathan Evans (Rebecca), John Evans (Caitlin), Kirby Evans (Kylee), Krista Clear (Kevin),Brian Ribble (Casey), Brent Ribble, Alex Stolar (Stephanie), Makenzie Shriner(Alec) and Isaac Stolar (Katie); Twenty four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Clyde Ribble; three sisters, Elsie Ribble, Helen Warner and Dorothy Rambo.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the church on Wednesday. Burial will in the Smith Chapel Cemetery with Military Services at the grave. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Smith Chapel Community Park, in care of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, 2033 St. Rt. 83, Beverly, Ohio 45715.
