Mildred Elliott Obituary

Mildred McGregor Elliott, 101, of Barlow, Ohio passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at Appletree Assisted Living in Barlow. She was born on September 10, 1919 in Waterford, Ohio to the late Charles Dayton and Mary Helen Flowers Ford. Mildred was a graduate of Waterford High School with the class of 1937 and worked three years at the American Fruit Package Co. She was a member of the Barlow Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, working with her flowers and garden, quilting and being with her children and grandchildren. She married James W. McGregor of Fleming on September 28, 1940 with whom she shared 44 happy years before he passed away on September 23, 1984. She later married Dale Elliott of Vincent who also precedes her in death. Mildred is survived by two daughters, Shelba (Paul) Dowler of Barlow, and Cheryl Huffman of Waterford. Her grandchildren, Norman (Angela) Dowler of Vincent, Karen (Dan) Anstatt of Vincent, Ryan (Brittany)Huffman of Waterford, Jamie (Linda) McGregor of Menifee, California, Jeff (Jessica) McGregor of San Marcos, California and Jessica (Joey) Coats of Corona, California. Her great grandchildren, Jason (Joni) Turner, Lindsay Anstatt, Ella and Jaxtyn Huffman, Mason and Madison McGregor, Harper McGregor and Rylee and Nixon Coats and her great grandchildren, JayLynn, Jayla and Gigi Turner. Mildred is also survived by a brother, William (Maxine) Ford of Devola. In addition to her husbands and parents, Mildred was preceded in death by a son, James F. McGregor; her son-in-law, Larry E. Huffman; her great- great grandson ,Jax A. Turner and her brother E. Newman Ford. The family would like to thank the employees of Appletree Assisted Living and Amedisys Home Health and Hospice of Marietta for the care given to Mildred. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery near Belpre. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly is in charge of arrangements.
