Obituary

Michael "Shawn" Miller, 55, of Columbiana, Alabama  was born October 20, 1965 in Marietta, Ohio.  He is the oldest son of Andrew and Judith (Addlesburger) Miller of Waterford, Ohio.  Shawn  passed away suddenly in an industrial accident at Three Mile Island Nuclear Plant in  Pennsylvania, near Harrisburg  on September 10, 2021.

 

Shawn is lovingly remembered by his parents, Andrew and Judith Miller of Waterford; a sister, Lisa (Miller) Kendig and husband, Bryan, nephew Chase Kendig of Katy Texas and niece, Alexa (Kendig) DeFiore and husband Michael of Denver, CO.  His brother Todd Miller and wife, Rena, nieces Madelyn, Sophia and Jordyn of  Soddy Daisy, TN.  Brother, Patrick Miller and wife Rachael and nephew Braden of Waterford, OH. along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

Shawn graduated from Waterford High School and attended Ohio University and Diver Academy International in NJ.  His career started as project manager for Underwater Construction Corporation, then  VP at TriVis Inc. and finally he  went on to form M IV services where he provided project management and consulting services for nuclear power facilities.  

 

Shawn had several things he enjoyed including barbequing, making home brew, landscaping and motorcycle touring.  He loved deer hunting and recently acquired the family farm with his two brothers.  He also enjoyed several family vacations and was a founding member of the Colonel Miller Hunt Club.

 

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11am at St Bernard's Catholic Church, 309 7th Street Beverly, Ohio with Fr. Tim Kozak officiating .  Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery.  A lunch reception will be held at St. Bernards social hall after the service where family and friends may greet the family. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly is in charge of arrangements.
