Martha E. Atkinson

     Martha E. Atkinson, 101, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Appletree Assisted Living in Beverly. She was born on October 7, 1920 in Quaker City, Ohio, daughter of Homer and Lena Harris Grier. She graduated from Quaker City High School in 1939 and had been employed at the Citizens Bank Company in Beverly for over twenty years. She was a longtime member of the Beverly Presbyterian Church and the Order of Eastern Star in Beverly. She loved to travel and camp with her husband Carl, which they did for many years after their retirements. She was married on September 25, 1945 to Carl R. Atkinson who died on July 1, 2008. She is survived by a son, John Atkinson and his wife Vickie of Beverly; a grandson, Alan Atkinson and wife Ashley of Worthington, Ohio and a granddaughter, Grace Nelson and husband Derrick of Dry Fork WV; five great grandchildren, Jesse, Nettie, Leland, Anna and Olivia; and a sister, Faye Wallace of Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother Charles Grier.

     Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the Beverly Cemetery with Pastor Jim Porter officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery.
