Marilyn Young

     Marilyn Young, 87, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at University Hospital Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born on May 6, 1936 in Waterford, Ohio, daughter of Clarence and Martha Alice Sampson Mercer. She graduated from Waterford high School in 1954. Marilyn attended the Waterford United Methodist Church, was a member of the OCCL for over 50 years and was a member of the Modern Woodman of America. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren,   loved to socialize and never met a stranger. She was married on August 19, 1961 to Ronald J. Young who died on November 1, 2016. She is survived by three sons, Bill Young and his wife Jennifer of Waterford, Tom Young and his wife Jayne of Hilbert, Wisconsin and Dick Young and wife Jesica of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, Randy, Alice and Wyatt Young, Russell  Young, Denise Gutting (Blake) and Braeden, Haylee and Taryn Young. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Norman Mercer and a sister, Velva Mae Mercer.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with burial in the Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
