Lucy L. Barton

     Lucy L. Barton, 88, of Coal Run, Ohio, died on Friday, March 17, 2023 at her home. She was born on June 30, 1934 in Coal Run, Ohio, daughter of Charles and Asia Hughes Wallace. She graduated from Beverly High School in 1952 and had worked at Ash Hanson Greenhouse, was assistant Post Master at the Coal Run Post Office and was custodian at the Beverly Eagles Club. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #3665, Legion Auxiliary Post # 750 at Lowell and the 40 et 8 Auxiliary at Marietta. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and always had a candy jar for them or anyone else that came to her house. She was married on July 17, 1956 to Ralph J. Barton who died on May 6, 2021. She is survived by one son, Ralph Barton Jr. of Coal Run; three grandchildren, Matt Barton and wife Alyssa of Lowell, Jeremy Barton of Waterford and Joe Anderson and wife Chevelle of Waterford; three great grandchildren, Sarah, Ryleigh and Brantly Anderson; and a sister in-law, Shirley Wallace of Waterford. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; siblings, Florence Gallagher, Oliver Wallace, Nellie Roe, Ray Wallace, Roy Wallace, Elvin Wallace, Pearly Wallace, Clarence Joe Wallace and Iona Fish.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at McCurdy Funeral in Beverly with Evangelist Ronald Laughery and Rich Lemal officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Beverly-Waterford Rescue Squad or the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department.
