Liza Heiss Obituary

     Liza Beth Heiss, 53, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Friday, February 18, 2022 at her home. She was born May 8, 1968 in Beverly, daughter of Donna J. Heppner Woodward. Liza graduated from Morgan High School in 1986 and Ohio University in 1990 and had been a substitute school teacher for several years. She was a wonderful homemaker and a member of St. Bernard Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #389 at Beverly. She was married on August 4, 1990 to Andy W. Heiss who survives. Also surviving are three children, Adam Heiss (Madison), Jason Heiss (Mackenzie) and Lindsay Heiss; her mother in-law, Camilla Heiss of Beverly; Brothers and sisters in-law, Rod and Candy, Rick and Teresa, Charlene Hall, Steve and Margie and Chris and Doug Schweikert; friends, Brandy Callihan, Amy Line, Gretchen Funk-Harper, Janis Davis and Lois Offenberger; grand dogs, River, Milo and Indy and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends of the book club. She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Woodward, grandparents, Marie Duncan and Russell Duncan, brother, James Dean Woodward, father in-law, George Heiss and two brothers in-law, Rusty Heiss and Denny Hall.

     A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 21, 2022 at St. Bernard Church with Father Tim Kozak officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly. Donations may be made to Beverly-Waterford Rescue Squad, St. Bernard Church or the Beverly Volunteer Fire Dept.
