Karen S. Rohrer

     Karen S. Rohrer, 77, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 17, 1946 in Marietta, Ohio, daughter of Muarl and Willadine McCauley Nichols. Karen graduated from Waterford High School and also Washington County Community College and had been Treasurer of Wolf Creek School District for many years. She was married on November 21, 1964 to James W. Rohrer who survives. Also surviving are three children, Sue Huck and husband Rob of Lowell, Jeff Rohrer of Waterford and Lora Heiss and husband Jeff of Waterford; eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and her dog, Stormy. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Keith Nichols; sister, Margaret McIntire; a niece, Pamela Eichmiller; brother in-law, Sam Rohrer and a sister in-law, Mary Jane Eichmiller.                

     A private family service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 11, 2023 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor James Porter officiating. Burial will be in the Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday at McCurdy Funeral Home. Donations may be made in Karen’s name to the Washington County Humane Society, 90 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, Ohio 45750.
