Joanne Helen Schott, 76, of Beverly, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 2, 1947 in Marietta, Ohio, daughter of John and Marie Offenberger Bauerbach. She graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1965 and had worked as a dental assistant at River City Dental and also for Dr. Robert LaBarre where she never met a stranger. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly. Joanne lived her life serving others whether it was volunteering at the church, taking care of family or keeping up with her many friends. She was always the life of the party and she will be missed by many. Joanne was also an active participant at the O’Neill Senior Center in Marietta and in her younger days she enjoyed bowling. On June 19, 1971 she was married to Dean E. Schott who survives. Also surviving are four children, Deana Milligan of Marietta, Todd Schott of Williamstown, WV, Mark Schott of Beaver Creek, Ohio and Jeremy Schott of Marietta; son in law, Tracy Milligan and daughter in law Shanda Schott; grandchildren, Tracy Jr., Allison, Kimberly and Cole Milligan, Ellie Schott, Owen Watson and Cole Cline; great grandchildren, Ash Sims, Ivan Sims and Naomi Cline; a brother ,Cecil Bauerbach of Lowell and a sister, Betty Morris and husband RB of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews all of whom she loved and cared for deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Donald, James and David Bauerbach; a sister, Mary Rhodes Nicholson; and a great granddaughter, Olivia Anne Milligan.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father Tim Kozak officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with a Rosary service at 7:30 pm. and online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
