James R. McMannis, 86, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV. He was born on March 17, 1936 in Caldwell, Ohio, son of William L. and Virgie May Rogers McMannis. He was retired from AEP Muskingum River Plant after 28 years of service. He attended Dexter City High School and served in the US Army. He was a member of the Fifth Street Church of Christ and the Road Runner Fishing Club in Ft. Pierce Florida. He had built three houses during his life which his family lived in. He had also sold produce in Cambridge for several years. Jim enjoyed his family and grandchildren and would do anything for them. He was married on May 17, 1960 to Betty Jean Weaver McMannis who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Mike McMannis of Zanesville and Christopher Shawn McMannis of Caldwell; a daughter, Kimberly Haines of Caldwell; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond McMannis (Linda) of Canton; three sisters, Fern Loene Kelby of Waterford, Mary Ann Chastaine of Canton and Janet Sue Klintworth of Lowell; and a sister in-law, Sandy McMannis of Applecreek, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Patrick McMannis and two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 15, 2022 at the Fifth Street Church of Christ in Beverly with Evang. Zack Waite officiating. Burial will be in the Keithtown Cemetery with Military services at the grave. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at the Fifth Street Church of Christ.
