James Coleman Obituary

     James S. “Jim” Coleman, 78, of Stockport, Ohio, died on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at his home. He was born on April 21, 1944 in Chesterhill, Ohio, son of Warrior A. and Ada C. Bennett Coleman. He graduated from Windsor High School and had been a Maintenance Mechanic for AEP for several years. Jim was a farmer and also enjoyed cutting timber. Jim was a member of the Morgan County Farm Bureau and attended the Dale United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his grandchildren, loved the outdoors and especially loved working with his hands and working on the farm. He was married on October 18, 1964 in Pennsville to Judith Kaye McInturf who died on April 19, 1996. He is survived by three daughters, Lisa Pinkerton (Joe) of Palmer, Kelly Bosner of Stockport and Jamie Coleman of Stockport; six grandchildren, Katie Sams (Taylor), Jacob Bosner, Jonathan Bosner (Lynna), Kelsie Bosner (Steven), Gavin Coleman and Grace Coleman; his longtime companion, Connie Krause; his dog Ollie; and two brothers, Richard Coleman (Patsy) and Ronald Coleman (Dixie) of Stockport; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Coleman.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly. Burial will be in the Dale Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dale United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
