Hubert Lee Hart

Hubert Lee Hart, 88, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away Wednesday April 15, 2026 at 3:51p.m. at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born May 23, 1937 in Wood County, West Virginia, son of Arthur and Florence (Ludwig) Hart. Hubert was married October 28, 1956 to the love of his life, Donna F (DeLong) Hart whom preceded him in death October 26, 2014 after almost 58 years of marriage. Hubert and Donna moved to their farm in Neelysville, Ohio in 1963 where they raised their family for many years.

 Hubert worked at Finley's meat packing plant from 1956 to 1966. He then went on to work at the Globe power plant as a crane operator from July 17, 1966 until his retirement, July 17, 1996. Throughout the years, he enjoyed many things from running his sawmill, working on cars, studying his bible and tinkering around his farm.

 Hubert is survived by three daughters Sandra Hart Frye, Juanita (David) Courtney and Bonnie Hart Tyson, three sisters Bonnie Bonar, Belinda (Denny) Funk and Linda (Terry) Swain and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a special granddaughter, Amanda (Ronald) Butcher in which he took great pride in helping raise by stepping into the role of both grandfather and father figure. He shaped her life with his wisdom, strength and unconditional love. Hubert was lovingly cared for by three granddaughters Amanda (Ronald) Butcher, Amy (Shyrone) Draughn, Kathy (Charles) Huff and a special companion, Janet Donahue. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two daughters, Sheila Hart and Beverly Hart, three brothers, Arthur Hart Jr, William Hart and Jarrell Hart, and two sisters, Norma Johnson and Lenora Coler.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with burial in Green Lawn Cemetery in Lowell, Ohio. Friends may call 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Tuesday at the Funeral Home and online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
