Howard L. Johnson

     Howard L. Johnson of Marietta passed away at home on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 91 with his wife at his side. He was born April 24, 1929 to the late William and Laura Ross Johnson. Howard retired from Natural Resources Luke Chute Dam #5 in Waterford, Ohio after 20 years of service. He was also an avid farmer. Howard was formally of Waterford, Ohio where he lived most of his life.  Howard was a member of Pinehurst Christian Church in Marietta, Ohio.

     He is survived by his wife Norma Hart Phillis Johnson whom he married August 25, 2006. He is also survived by his two daughters Caroline Rose and Greg of Marietta, Ohio, Luanne Johnson and Jim of Marietta, Ohio.  One step daughter Pamela Hendrickson and Jay of Waverly West Virginia, two stepsons, Clarence (Gene) Phillis and Dawn  of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, and Roy Phillis and Robin of Stockport Ohio; two step granddaughters, five step grandsons and several great step grandchildren; two  nieces,  Lilley Trent and Chuck of Laurel Maryland, and Diane  Collins of Pataskala, Ohio.

     In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Ellis Johnson; two brothers, Thomas Johnson and Edwin Johnson; one sister Lucille Johnson; one step grandson, Cory Butcher; and a sister-in-law Sofie Johnson.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with his lifelong friend Jerry Hutchinson officiating. Friends may call 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Tuesday. Howard’s final resting place will be in the Waterford Cemetery alongside his first wife Marilyn Ellis Johnson.
