Harold L. Burt Jr. “Curly”, 92, met his Savior, Jesus Christ early on June 20, 2024 at Rockland Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Belpre. Curly was born in Wilson, WI, on October 24, 1931 to Harold and Edith Hobson Burt. He married Julie Brown on October 20, 1951 and served in the US Airforce during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1955. He attended Marietta Bible Center and was a Bible believing Christian. He retired from Union Carbide in Marietta after 31 years and later worked for Taylor Woodcraft at Malta, Ohio as a purchasing agent. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Patrice (Mark) Martin of Vincent; son, Danny (Angela) Burt of Marietta; eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julie; a daughter, Carol Terese Plemons and his sister Marian “Betty” Epperly.
A special thanks to his niece and nephew Resa Epperly Vavre and Rick Epperly and their families for their many visits and goodies that brightened his long days and our sincere gratitude and thanks to the Rockland Ridge employees for their excellent care of dad these last two years. A private family graveside service will be held at the Bartlett Cemetery with Military services at the grave at their convenience. Donations may be made to the Barlow Fie Department in remembrance of Curly.
