Emily D. Francis

     Emily D. Francis, 86, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Muskingum Skilled Nursing and Rehab. She was born on November 7, 1932 in Lowell, Ohio, daughter of James W. and Edith Mallett Way. She had worked in Dr. Victor Whitacre’s office in Beverly for 40 years. She graduated from Beverly High School in 1950. Emily was a longtime member and pianist at the Mt. Olive Community Church. She loved her dogs and cats and in her earlier years she enjoyed her horses. She was married on October 26, 1952 to William L. Francis who survives. Also surviving are three children, Sharon Ball and husband Tom of Syracuse, Ohio, Gwen Kelby of Beverly and Marty Francis and wife Cynni of Caldwell; a sister in-law, Georgina Way of Tampa, Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lewis Way; and a grandson, Andy Kelby.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 16, 2019 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Thad Haines officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
