Emily Louise Boyd

     Emily Louise Boyd, 81, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Monday, August 5, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 6, 1942 in Beverly, Ohio, daughter of Edgar Paige Flesher and Frances Louella Johnson Flesher. Emily graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1960. She had been an EMT for several years and was instrumental in organizing the Beverly-Waterford Rescue Squad in the mid 70’s. She had worked at the Darietta Dairy Queen in Beverly for many years and had been a dispatcher for the Police, Fire and Rescue squad for several years. She was member of the Beverly Methodist Church and the Rebecca Lodge. She is survived by two daughters, Mona Boyd-Anderson of Waterford and Kimberly Neill and husband Wes of Portland, Texas; two sons, Donnie Boyd and Stephen Boyd of Beverly; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Kitts of Beverly; sister in law, Wenonah Flesher of Pickerington, Ohio; and her former husband, Donald Boyd. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Frances Hinton; two brothers, Cleaston Flesher and Hervey Flesher; and an infant sister, Mary Irene.

     A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly from 6-8 pm with a service to follow at 8:00 pm with Pastor James Porter officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Beverly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice and online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
