Edna Lang Obituary

Edna Louise Huck Lang of Waterford passed away on November 2, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Edna was born on October 23, 1932 and recently celebrated her 88th birthday.  She was born in Beverly, OH to Frank and Anna Tullius Huck.

Edna grew up in Beverly, OH and graduated from Beverly High School in 1950.  She enjoyed telling stories of her childhood and about working at the movie theater in Beverly where she met her future husband.  Edna was a homemaker and the “glue” to making the family farm operate as she often had to become the “referee” in raising a family with a lot of boys.  She absolutely loved her family and took tremendous joy in attending their many school and athletic events.  She loved to travel as her and her husband had traveled to all 50 states as well as several countries overseas, always accompanied by family members.  She also enjoyed bowling for many years and dancing.

Edna was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Churchtown and the Catholic Women’s Club.  She was an avid supporter of St. John Central Grade School and Waterford High School.

Edna married Robert Francis Lang on October 4, 1950 and they graced the dancefloor through 70 years of marriage.  She is preceded in death by her husband on October 27, 2020.  She is survived by her 7 children: Wanda (Charlie), Terry (Karen), Larry, and Gary (Nancy) of Waterford, Frank (Judy) of Marietta, Brady (Cheryl) and Russell (Betina) of Waterford.  She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  She is also survived by sisters-in-law Mary Huck, Evelyn Neill, Irene Lang, and Shirley Lang, as well as brothers-in-law Delbert (Norma) Lang, Jack (Janet) Lang, and Bob Oliver.  She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Howard Huck, brothers-in-law James (Marie), Harold (Rosemary), Vincent (Alice), Joseph Jr., Glenn, Gerald (Martha), Walter, and Bernard and sisters-in-law Alice (Edward) Schilling, Grace (Howard) Strahler, and Shirley Oliver.  She is also preceded in death by brothers-in-law Jim Neill and Ralph Stolllar.

Due to state health mandates, a private family Mass service will be held at 10:00am on November 7, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Church in Churchtown with the Reverend David Gaydosik officiating.  Family and friends are welcome to join at the church cemetery at approximately 10:30am for graveside service.  Visitation service will be conducted at the McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly, OH on November 6, 2020 from 4pm – 7pm.  Masks are recommended and social distancing should be observed.  The family would like to thank their mother’s caregivers Missie, Tamra, Sherry, Tina, and Megan as well as the care received from Marietta Home Health and Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to St. John Central School Foundation at 17784 State Route 676 Marietta, OH  45750. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
