Donald Long Obituary

     Donald Joseph Long, 90, of Lowell, Ohio, went to be with the Lord peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. He was born on March 12, 1929 in Lowell, Ohio, son of Ralph L. and Helen Thieman Long. He had retired from Interlake Steel after 35 years of service. Donald had served in the US Army during the Korean War and had been a member of American Legion Post 750 at Lowell. He was married in December of 1975 to Shirley Jackson Hendershot Long who died on February 23, 2011. He is survived by four children, Eugene long and wife Jeanne of Dale, Pat Long and wife Becky of Lowell, Dan Long and wife Kathy of Fleming and Dianna Way of Belpre; eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; three step-children, Michael Hendershot and wife Young Hee, Timothy Hendershot and wife Paula and Thomas Hendershot and wife Angie; ten step-grandchildren; two brothers, Ed Long and wife Grace of Lowell and Jerry Long of Lower Salem. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents and a great grandson, Cason Binegar.

     Services will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their wonderful care of Donald and the many friend and family that visited him during his illness.
