Donald Dupre II Obituary

     Donald L. Dupre II, 82, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. He was born on June 4, 1942 in Wellston, Ohio, son of Donald L. Dupre Sr. and Marie Brown Dupre. He graduated from Waterford High School in 1961 and had worked for AEP Central Ohio Coal Company for 40 years. Don was a devoted family man that loved his wife dearly. He adored his sons, and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye. Don was a devout Methodist and never was happier than when helping others. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as holidays and vacations with his extended family. He was a coal miner for 40 years and very active in the United Mine Workers of America. On July 7, 1963 he was married to Alta Faye Barnes Dupre, who survives. Also surviving is a son, Edward Dupre of University Heights, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Bezu Dupre and Denver Dupre; a sister, Carol Voigt and husband Karl of Verona, Pa.; a brother in law, John Offenberger and several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Dupre III; brother, Charles Rufus Dupre; sister, Cindy Offenberger; and nephews, Jerry Dupre and Danny Partlow.

     Funeral services for Don will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 29, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Preacher John Offenberger I officiating. The burial will be in the Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm on Monday at the funeral home and online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Salem Church or the Beverly Volunteer Fire Dept.
