Delmar Mincks Obituary

     Delmar Jack Mincks, 85, of Lowell, Ohio, died on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at his home. He was born on March 28, 1937 in Caldwell, Ohio, son of Delmar Arza and Margaret Hughes Mincks. He graduated from Beverly High School and then served in the United States Air Force.  He had worked at Interlake Steel and later worked at Elkem Metals where he retired. Jack had a life full of motorcycles and he especially loved his Harley trike .He enjoyed bluegrass music, getting together with friends, soup beans cooked over an open fire, making homemade ice cream for the grandkids, reading, Goodwill shopping and hoarding VHS tapes.

     He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Hupp (Darren Shriver) of Lowell and Marla Mankins of Belpre; five grandchildren, Lexis, Erin, Brandon, Joe and Mahela;

To Carson, Kyler and Myles: You were the most excitement he had for years and sometimes the bane of his existence. The noise!  But he loved watching you and picking on you every chance he could.

To Brandon (Doug), Jackie and Cameron: You gave him some of the best conversations in the past 2 years.  Cam was a great paperboy for him and the stories you can tell will bring us laughs for years.

And Lexis:  You were the grandchild he saw the most.  His eyes lit up and his eyebrows would raise as soon as you walked in the room.  “Hey kid” will forever echo in your heart and mind.

A huge thank you to Amedysis Hospice (Lexie, Ashley, Jan, Cody, Russ, Willie) for coaxing smiles, crazy faces, praying, and bringing laughs and peace to the end of his life.  I couldn’t have done it without you.

Dad sometimes took over in my life.  I am honored and grateful I could take over in his life when he could not. Rest easy Daddy.  I’ve got this now.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen Mausser; and an infant son Steven Jack Mincks.
