David A. Harra, 74, of Fleming, Ohio, died on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at his home. He was born on September 19, 1949 in Marietta, Ohio, son of Doryl D. and Faye E. Cantner Harra. David graduated from Waterford High School in 1967 and attended DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago. He had been a boilermaker for 30 years working out of Local #105 in Piketon, had worked at Marietta Concrete and he loved to cut timber in his spare time with his friends He was a member of Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #37 F&AM in Beverly and York Rite and Scottish Rite Body. He was also a member of the FOE #3665 and the sons of American Legion Post #389 at Beverly and had been a member of the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years. On February 5, 1994 he was married to Mindy Offenberger Harra who survives. Also surviving is a son, Brenden Harra and wife Hope of Canal Fulton, Ohio; a step son, Jess Jackson and wife Caitie of Port Charlotte, Fl.; Grandchildren, Graysen and Scarlett of Port Charlotte Fl. and Ashlyn and Rylan of Pineville, La.; two brothers, Michael Harra and wife Mary and Henry Harra and wife Cheryll of Watertown; two sisters, Patricia Few of Watertown and Susan Tornes and husband Ronnie of Marietta; two sisters in law, Sabrina Harra of Waterford, Ohio and Diane Offenberger of Marietta, Ohio; his mother in law, Carolyn Bartmess of Marietta and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clayton Harra; brother in law, Jerry Few; father in law, Donnie Offenberger and step father in law, Richard Bartmess.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 14, 2024 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor John Harra Officiating. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery near Waterford. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the funeral home where a Masonic service will be held at 8:00 pm.
