Curtis W. Goins Jr.

     Curtis W. Goins Jr., 72, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born November 26, 1951 in Oak Hill, WV, son of Curtis W. Goins Sr. and Betty Lou Curry Goins. Curtis graduated from Oak Hill High School in Oak Hill, WV in 1969 and graduated from WVU at the top of his class in Chemical Engineering in 1973. He had been employed by Elkem Metal and retired from Globe Metallurgical as a Chemical Engineer. He also had been a Pastor at the Beverly and Philo Baptist Church. He was a member of the Beverly Baptist Church and loved to watch high school basketball and volleyball and other sports, especially when his grandchildren were playing. On March 20, 1976 Curtis was married to Carolyn Sue Brewer Goins who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Emily Goins of Pataskala, Ohio, Laura Goins of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jennifer Wagner and husband Josh of Waterford, Ohio; five grandchildren, Shelby, Avery, Hensley and Dawson Wagner of Waterford and CJ Bauer of Cincinnati, Ohio; his father, Curtis W. Goins Sr. of Oak Hill, WV; a sister, Kathy Holley and husband Mark of Oak Hill, WV; two brothers, David Goins of Daniel Island, SC and Danny Goins and wife Jean Ann of Oak Hill, WV. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Goins.

     A visitation for Curtis will be held 1-3 pm on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with a service to follow at 3 pm. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
