Cecil Dwight Chandler, 80, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Waterview Pointe in Marietta. He was born on April 12, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA., son of Cecil Chandler and Laura May Ernest Chandler. He graduated from Fort Frye High School. Dwight had worked at Globe Metallurgical and had owned several business’s in the area for several years. He had also been a former Mayor of Beverly and later in life he became an LPN and worked in Home Nursing. He was a member of the Beverly Presbyterian Church, Mt. Moriah Lodge F&AM in Beverly and in his younger days he had coached youth baseball for several years. He is survived by his son, Shane Chandler of Columbus, Ohio; two grandsons, Ryan Chandler of Mineral Wells, WV and Calvin Chandler of Columbus, Ohio; and two brothers, Mike Chandler and Carl Chandler. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Martin W. “Marty” Chandler; and a brother Eugene Chandler.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24th at 11:00am at the Beverly Presbyterian Church with burial in the Beverly Cemetery. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly was in charge of the arrangements and online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
