Cecelia (Clara) Foreman

Cecelia (Clara) Foreman, 96, previously of Waterford, OH died December 19th, 2020 in Parkersburg, WV at the home of her Granddaughter Bobbie Jo where she was loved and cared for throughout the last years of her life. She was born October 4th, 1924 to Hannah and Manuel Fernandez in Maui, Hawaii. She had 4 Sisters and 1 Brother. 

Cecelia was raised in Hawaii and was present at Pearl Harbor during the bombing. She always had great stories of growing up making and selling leis, working in the pineapple factory and being a Hula Dancer with her sisters. After the war, she left the Islands, moved to Waterford, Oh and married the love of her life, Clarence W. Foreman on December 16th, 1950 who proceeded her in death on April 8th, 1999.

She is survived by their three children Robert G. Foreman, Charlotte Ponchak and Clarence Foreman Jr. She has 8 biological grandchildren, Bobbie Jo (Jennifer) Ross, Robert L. Foreman, Stacy Harper, Michael Foreman, Craig (Taneka) Ponchak, Vicki (Chad) Mellon, Jennifer (Brandon) Miller, and Kelly Cunningham She also had 1 adopted Grandson, Richard Griffin II who took care of her every single day while she lived in Parkersburg.  She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren with 1 Great Great Grandaughter due in March. Cecelia also has several nieces and nephews along with a very large extended family.

Mrs. Foreman worked at Sparling’s Farm for 30 plus years where she made an impact on everyone that she met.  Cecilia loved working for the Sparling family. She enjoyed planting flowers and packing tomatoes.

Cecelia never met a stranger and even people who never met her, loved her spirit, strength, loving heart and good humor.  She loved children.  She believed that she was Grandma to every child that she met.

Cecilia was proceeded in death by both of her parents, all 5 of her siblings, her husband, and 1 Great Grandson James Foreman.

Cecelia’s service will be held at Waterford Cemetery at 11 am on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 with Pastor Katie Tennant, Cecelia’s Oldest Great Granddaughter officiating. There will be a viewing from 10-11 am on Wednesday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly before the service.
