Betty Y. Landaker

     Betty Y. Landaker, 85, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta. She was born on December 25, 1938 in Wayenette, Oklahoma, daughter of Gerald Eugene Sampson and Alma Mae Barnes Sampson Vaughn. Betty graduated from Waterford High School and had been the Bar Manager at the American legion Post #389 in Beverly for several years. She was a member of the American Legion Post #389 Auxiliary in Beverly and a Lifetime Member of the VFW #5108 Auxiliary in Marietta. She loved to travel and enjoyed all the family reunions but especially loved being with her family and friends. Betty is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Schrader (Bill) of Belpre and Martha Nutter (Rob) of Waterford; three sons, Doug Landaker (Debbie) of Dale, Carl Landaker of Waterford and Aric Landaker of Beverly; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; a brother Johnney Sampson (Merrilyn) of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carla Jean Farmer; two brothers, Harold “Dickie” Sampson and Leroy Sampson; and a sister, Carolyn Waters; a great grandson, Klayton Johnson; and her longtime companion, Ivan Clark.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly. Burial will be in the Waterford Cemetery and friends may call 5-8 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
