Barbara A. Hess

Barbara A. Hess, 71, of Devola, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born August 7, 1949 in Marietta, Ohio, daughter of Anthony and Mary Geraldine Huck O’Linn. She graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1967 and had been employed as a financial officer for banks in the area for several years. Barbara loved reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She was married December 7, 1973 to Dana Hess who survives. Also surviving is a son, Denver Hess and wife Heather of Williamstown, West Virginia; daughter, Melissa Durkin and husband Mike of Parkersburg, West Virginia; 5 grandchildren, Halley and Wesley Durkin, and Hudson, Deacon, and Hayden Hess; sister, Diane O’linn and Jeff McCurdy of Belpre, Ohio and Larry O’linn and wife Loretta of Beverly, Ohio. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at a later date. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly handled the arrangements.
