Alvin H. Arnold, 69, of Vincent, Ohio, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 15, 1956 in Marietta, Ohio, son of Herman H. and Hilda Huck Arnold. Alvin graduated from Waterford High School in 1974 and had been a Lineman for Monongalia Power Company for many years, retiring in 2020. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church at Churchtown. Alvin enjoyed farming, golfing and going to Myrtle Beach with his family. He was a great handyman and was always helpful to everyone who needed help and he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. On August 11, 1984 he was married to Diane L. Miller Arnold who died on June 13, 2021. He is survived by three children, Eric Arnold and Molly of Parkersburg, WV, Ashley Dill and Matt of New Albany, Ohio and Lindsey Brock and Travis of Hebron, Ohio; a grandson, Henry Dill; his stepmother, Leona Schwendeman Arnold of Beverly, Ohio; three brothers, Harold Arnold and Karen of Waterford, Ohio, Fred Arnold and Cindy of Marietta, Ohio and Pat Arnold and Althea of Marietta, Ohio; two sisters, Martha Schwendeman of Marietta, Ohio and Karen Biedenbach and Steve of Surry Virginia; his mother in-law, Eleanor Smith of Watertown, Ohio; brother in-law, Dave Miller and Michelle of Marietta, Ohio; sister in-law, Amy Gaston of Lewis Center, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Alvin was preceded in death by his wife Diane and his parents, Herman and Hilda Arnold.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 29, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Church in Churchtown with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will be in the Watertown Cemetery.
