Allen Wayne Johns Sr. 72, of Rimrock, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 in hospice care following a valiant battle with aggressive Lewy Body Disease. He was born on September 11, 1952 in Marietta, Ohio, son of Ernest Johns and Naomi Stiers Johns. Allen leaves behind his wife, Rebecca Johns; his son, A.J. Johns Jr. of Lower Salem, Ohio; his daughter, Serina Shilling of Waterford Ohio and his beloved sister, Susan Johns of Flagstaff, Arizona. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Tyser Shilling, Nicki Shilling, Todd Burer, Lane Johns and Luke Johns. He also had a nephew, Mark Stento. Allen was a graduate of Waterford High School and was always an adventure seeker. He was most happy when he was outside with grit on his teeth and grease on his hands. He had an independent business spirit and owned and operated Lower Salem, Ohio Mini Mart and also a local Lower Salem Bar. In Arizona he was a Director of an Assisted Living Program and found solace in enhancing the lives of his many residents. He was proud of his life’s accomplishments despite the many challenges he had faced. The last thirty years he enjoyed life in the deserts and woodlands of Arizona and found joy living a simplified life along with his loving wife, Rebecca, of almost twenty years. NASCAR was important on the weekends along with drives on the country roads. He was an avid walker and found peace during his long walks in the quiet desert landscapes of Arizona. He had a pleasant, quiet personality and could bring a smile to your face with his sense of humor. He was always quick to help others and enjoyed a humble life until the very end. He is loved and cherished and will be forever remembered.
