Alice Emma Huck

Alice Emma Schwendeman Huck, age 91 of Waterford, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Born on April 30, 1930 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Helen Schilling Schwendeman. On June 15, 1949 she married the love of her life Herman Andrew Huck who survives.

Alice worked most of her life as a homemaker where she and Herman raised their nine children. She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church and was active in the OCCL League, the CWC and enjoyed sewing beautiful quilts for her family and friends. Alice, along with Aunt Martha, was best known for making the most delicious pies.

Along with her husband, survivors include her nine children; Calvin (Carol) Huck of Waterford, Patricia (Patrick) Tornes of Beverly, Rosetta Huck of Moorefield, WV, Sandra (Donavan) Thieman, Maureen (Gary) Cunningham all of Waterford, Franklin (Leslee) Huck of Beverly, Veronica (Bryan) Adams of New Cumberland, WV, Christopher (Christina) Huck of Lewisville and Holly Webb (Kelly Allen) of Belpre, one sister; Martha (Virgil) Huck of Waterford, two brothers; Larry (Joyce) Schwendeman of Vincent and Robert Schwendeman of Waterford. Also surviving are; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.  Alice was preceded in death by one sister; Mary Margaret Smithberger, three brothers; Glenn, James and David Schwendeman and her father and mother in-law; Leo D. and Lucy P. Huck.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly handled the arrangements. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
