Robert G. Pierce Sr.

Robert G. Pierce Sr., 91, of Beverly, Ohio, died Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. He was born October 1, 1926 in Jackson, Ohio, son of Harry and Mildred Garrett Pierce.  He retired from Interlake Steel as an accountant after many years of service. He graduated from Jackson High School and received an Associate Degree from Marietta College. Robert had served in the US Army during WWII. He was a Baptist by faith and was a wonderful father who loved to be around his family. He was married on June 3, 1949 to Marietta Jean Wilson Pierce who died October 7, 2013. He is survived by a son, Dave Pierce and his wife Brenda of Marietta; a daughter, Virginia Ewry and husband William of Kettering, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brad Pierce, Chris Pierce, Eric Pierce, Katie Murdock (Craig) and Stephanie Barr (Rick); two great grandsons, Alex and Gavin Murdock; and a sister, Virginia Haley (Clyde). He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and a son, Robert G. Pierce Jr. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor Jason Bunger officiating.
