Rita R. Fulton

Rita R. Fulton, 83, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born July 1, 1936 in Dexter City, Ohio, daughter of William A. and Bertha A. Fogle Nau. She had been a Registered Nurse for 38 years and the head nurse in the surgical department at Marietta Memorial Hospital where she retired in 1995. She graduated from Dexter City High School in 1954 and Nursing School at Good Samaritan Hospital in 1957. She was a farm wife and became an avid quilter after her retirement. She was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Church and the Catholic Women’s Club. She was a lifetime member of the Washington County Farm Bureau and longtime member of the Stanleyville Grange. On October 10, 1959 she married Gene P. Fulton who died on October 10, 1997. She is survived by a son, Larry Fulton and his wife Sharon of Waterford; three daughters, Mary Brooker and husband James of Waterford, Sue Carsey and husband Greg of Marietta and Sandra Wagner and husband Keith of Lowell; grandchildren, Alicia King (Dave), Aaron Brooker (Jess), Alan Brooker, Ryan and Tyler Carsey, Miranda Allen (Heath), Amy Huck (Kenneth), Michael Fulton (Kacy), Wyatt and Maggie Fulton, Ashley Wagner (Jeremy Stackpole) and Andrew Wagner (Catherine); step grandchildren, Daniel, David, Brandon and Brittney Carsey; great grandchildren, Eli, Logan and Brody King, Laura Wagner, Ashton and Kaylynn Huck,  Stella Fulton and Brantley and Hunter Allen; two sisters, Ramona Tornes and Patricia Lang (Lewis) and a brother Robert Nau (Patricia). She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Mary Pilcher; and a brother, Howard Nau.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Church with Father David Gaydosik and Father Walter Hinz officiating. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Monday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly where a rosary will be held at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John School Foundation.
