Michael Dane Gerken

Michael Dane Gerken, 22, of Beverly, died Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at his home. He was born on November 15, 1994 in Marietta, Ohio, son of Terry James Gerken and Jo Anna Huck Gerken Johnson. He graduated from Fort Frye High School in 2013. In 2011 Michael worked as summer help for the Village of Beverly as a grounds keeper. From September of 2011 until October of 2014 he worked for Sponey’s IGA in Beverly as a night closer. He had also worked for Electrotech Appliance Repair from 2014 until 2017. He had most recently been employed at Medlin Machine Works as a CMC operator. He was involved in the community and was a member of the Washington County Board of Elections from 2012 until 2015. He is survived by his mother, Jo Anna Johnson and his step father Roy of Beverly and his father, Terry Gerkin and stepmother Lori of Marietta; his grandmother, Anna Huck of Lowell; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tyler James Gerken in 2015. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Green Lawn Cemetery in Lowell with Pastor Don E.
