Mary L. Schradel

Mary L. Schradel, 82, of Beverly, passed away on December 15th surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on March 3, 1937 in Guernsey County, Ohio to the late Fred and Thelma Hixson. Mary graduated from Quaker City High School in 1955. She retired as the Assignment Commissioner for the Common Pleas Court of Washington County in 2001. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and shopping with family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her 3 granddaughters. On December 18, 1955 she married Donald E. Schradel who proceeded her in death on June 28, 1980.

She is survived by her two children, Paul (Linda) Schradel and Mary Ann (Bob) Pennock as well as her grandchildren, Megan Pennock, Taylor (Joe Pugh) Pennock, and Kayla (Brian Lutz) Schradel and a sister, Betsy Hoyt. She is also survived by her companion of 30 years, Richard Krigbaum.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Don Schradel, and her sister Vicki Hixson Darrah.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 19th  at 11:00 am at The Beverly United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry Penrod officiating. Burial will follow in Beverly Cemetery. Family will greet friends at McCurdy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.mccurdyfh.com.
