Martha Ellen Haislet

Martha Ellen Haislet, 89, of Dexter City, Ohio, died Sunday, October 29, 2017 at her home. She was born on January 6, 1928 in Noble County, daughter of Harrison V. and Sarah Christine Crum Tidd. She had been a waitress at the Twin Pines Restaurant and several other restaurants and later retired as Post Master at the Watertown Post Office. She graduated from Dexter City High School in 1945. She attended the Dungannon Methodist Church and was active with the John Dodge Senior Citizens. On November 19, 1973 she was married to Richard J. Haislet who died on November 15, 2010. She is survived by four children, Charlotte Mountcastle and husband Charles of Philadelphia, Pa, Jo Ellen Hillman of Myrtle Beach SC, A. Ray Timberlake and wife Darla of Cambridge, Ohio and Zada McAuley of Dexter City; ten grandchildren and several great- grandchildren; one brother, Walter C. Tidd and wife Delores of Delaware, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; step-daughter, Cora Henthorne; grandson , Joe Earl Christmas; great-grandson, Braden Anderson; son in-law, Charles Hillman; two brothers, James Tidd and wife Edna and Arthur Tidd; and a sister, Treena Mae Maxwell and husband John. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor Rick Bourne officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery.
