Martha J. Cheeseman Lang

     Martha J. Cheeseman Lang, 80, of Parkersburg, WV, formerly of Waterford, Ohio, died on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg. She was born July 22, 1938 in Marietta, Ohio, daughter of Raymond M. and Ruth Bogard Schultheis. She graduated from Marietta High School. She had been a restaurant manager and had also worked for Marietta High School Board of Education. Martha enjoyed traveling with her late husband Gerald A. Lang who preceded her in death on April 11, 2017. Martha and Gerald were married on December 12, 1984. Surviving Martha are three sons, Jack Cheeseman of Elizabeth WV, Jerry Cheeseman (Cathy) of Parkersburg and Jim Cheeseman (Bonnie) of Brohard, WV; a daughter, Cindy Cheeseman of Denton, Texas; four stepchildren, Rick Lang (Denise) of Waterford, Ohio, Tammie Farmer of Hockingport, Ohio, Ann Clark (Ivan) of Boardman, Ohio and Joyce Lang of Marietta; sixteen grandchildren and twenty great –grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three sisters, Evelyn Kelley, Wilma Krauss and Raoma Wagner; and a brother, Ralph Schultheis; Martha was also preceded in death by her first husband Jack L. Cheeseman in 1977.

     A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Church at Churchtown, with Father Tim Davison officiating. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly where a Christian Wake will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday.
