Leonard D. Hinton

Leonard D. Hinton,76, of Waterford, formerly of Beverly, died on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at The Villages Regional  Hospital in The Villages, Florida. He was born on March 20, 1941 in Waterford, Township, son of Oris and Dorothy Reed Hinton. He had been a farmer for many years and retired from Broughton’s Dairy in Marietta. He attended Waterford High School and then served three years in the US Army. He was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly. He was married on November 6, 1965 to Gale Wilson Hinton who survives. Also surviving are three children, Kathy Cartner of Uniontown, Ohio, Eric Hinton of McDonald, Pa. and Steve Hinton and wife Alison of Beverly; Grandchildren, Matthew, Caitlyn, Adam, Erin, Maggie, Eliot, Trinton and Hailey and their half- brother Camden; two great granddaughters, Amelia and Vada; a brother, Glenn Hinton and wife Jerri of Waterford and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gladys Staph and Alice Maxine Hoover and a brother, Robert Hinton. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Father Tim Kozak officiating.
