Jerry G. Reeder

Jerry G. Reeder, 69, of Beverly, Ohio, passed away suddenly on May 24, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 10, 1949, in Parkersburg, one of three sons of the late William Earl and Mary Ruth Coberly Reeder. He had worked at Globe Metallurgical for 43 years as an accountant. Jerry was a long time member at the Waterford Church of the Nazarene where he was treasurer for over 40 years. He was a graduate of Belpre High School, valedictorian of the class of 1967, and attended Marietta College. He enjoyed reading, watching movies, cutting firewood and spending time with his five grandchildren who he loved dearly.  He was married May 24, 1980 to Debbie Shupe who died December 18, 1988. Surviving are his three sons, Jason (Jaylee) of Vacaville California; Stephen (Jolene) of Belpre, Ohio and Matthew (Rachel) of Belpre, Ohio; brother, Doug (Kathy) of Vincent, Ohio, and grandchildren, Mason, Allie, Charlotte, Noah, and Eli. He is also survived by brother- in-laws, Gary Shupe (Cheryl) of Jamestown, Ohio and John Shupe (Nancy) of Belpre, Ohio and his father-in-law, Isaac Shupe (Judy) of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Shupe Reeder; brother, James Reeder; sister-in-law Diana Shupe and mother-in-law June Shupe.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Waterford Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Isaac Shupe and Pastor Karl Kesselring officiating. Burial will be in the Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call 2-3 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waterford Church of the Nazarene.
