Frederick Eugene Eichmiller

Frederick Eugene Eichmiller, 76, of Beverly, Ohio passed away Friday, Oct 13, 2017 at his home.  He was  born on Nov. 2, 1940, in Marietta to the late Leland and Gladys Welch-Eichmiller

Fred was baptized at the Watertown Presbyterian Church and was a proud member of the class of 58' at Waterford High School where he excelled as a student athlete.  This past Tuesday he gathered with his classmates for lunch and a time of reminiscing. 

He spent most of his professional life in the lab at Globe Metallurgical and enjoyed his retirement.  He was a member of the Sons of The American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  He loved music, a good joke, cooking for family, and golf.  He spent his last day on earth doing what he enjoyed most, playing golf with his buddies.

Fred is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kay Drayer-Eichmiller and a daughter Rose (Mike) Snyder of Waterford.  Also a brother James (Carolyn) Eichmiller of Watertown and two grandsons, Seth Snyder, a Lieutenant in the Air Force Reserves, Alumnus of Duke Divinity School, and current student at Yale, and Caleb (Diana) Snyder, a graduate of the US Naval Academy, Captain, and pilot in the USMC, based in Camp Pendleton, CA.  In early 2016 Fred proudly welcomed his first great grandchild Brynn Riley Snyder, into this world

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by a son, David Joseph and a brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Mary Jane Eichmiller

The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday Oct. 19 , 2017 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly.  Evangelist Michael Snyder will officiate.  Internment will be in the Waterford Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 18.
