Edna Jean "Jeannie" Taylor

     Edna Jean “Jeannie” Taylor, 93 of Beverly, Ohio, died on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at her home. She was the daughter of Clyde C. and Margaret Ann Pierce Phillis. Jean graduated from Beverly High School in 1943. She was an 83 year member of the Mt. Olive Community Church. She loved her family, church family and her furry friends. She loved hymns, word search puzzles, country music, round and square dancing and her cats Arby and Boo, who already miss her very much and we know tails were wagging at the Rainbow Bridge when other pets, long gone, saw her coming. We will miss her sweet and gentle spirit. Jean lived for her children and was a wonderful mother. She was married on June 21, 1947 to James F. “Ira” Taylor who died on January 12, 1992. She is survived by three children, Sherry (Sam) Fleming, Melvin Taylor and Peggy Legg all of Beverly; a beloved brother, Dale (Nancy) Phillis of Dexter City; two nieces; a nephew; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and an infant son, Jimmy Clyde Taylor.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 6, 2019 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor Adam Copeland officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Donations may be made in her name to the Covenant House, NY, NY, or your local animal shelter.
